Paul Bannick: Program Night

Join us on Thursday, October 23, at 7:00 p.m. at the Redmond Senior & Community Center for a special evening with award-winning author and photographer Paul Bannick. He will present his newest book, A Year in the Life of North American Woodpeckers, a stunning exploration of these keystone birds and their essential role in our forests.

Woodpeckers shape and sustain the health of North American ecosystems. Their drumming signals the heartbeat of our forests, and the cavities they create provide shelter for owls, ducks, and many other species. In this program, Paul takes us from Alaska’s boreal forests to the pine-oak woodlands of Mexico, the arid landscapes along the U.S.-Mexico border, and the tropical habitats of Florida and the Caribbean.
